Bio

Sergio Viscoli, a New Mexico native, was born in Santa Fe and currently resides in Albuquerque. Although a lifelong photographer, Sergio began pastel painting in 1991 while living in Clovis, NM. There he studied under Bruce DeFoor, an avid plein air painter, and chair of the Art Department at the Clovis Community College. Upon moving to Albuquerque, Sergio studied art and print making at the University of New Mexico. Sergio has also taken workshops with many artists, including Albert Handell, Doug Dawson, Deborah Secor, Desmond OʼHagan and Richard McKinley.

2016 "Lose this Skin" won the Excellence award in Non-Representational at the Annual Show of MasterWorks of New Mexico.
2013 "City Light: Taichung" enters the 15th Annual MasterWorks of New Mexico Fine Art Show.
2012 March 25 - June 1: New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation Spring Show at Gallery with a Cause.
September 23 - November 30: New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation Fall Show: Unique Techniques at Gallery with a Cause.
November: "Aztec Motel" and "Holy Cow Parking Lot" enter Annual National Pastel Painting Exhibition. "Holy Cow Parking Lot" won Sponsorship Award #5.
2011 Jon became a Signature Member in the Pastel Society of New Mexico.
March: Wells Fargo Bank Art Show in Santa Fe featuring "Alone at Night", a collaborated work with Marion Tzui Yang.
"Bologna Marketplace" won Honorable Mention at the Annual Art Show of MasterWorks of New Mexico.
"Albuquerque Dreaming", a collaborative work with Marion Tzui Yang, won Sponsorship Award #5 the 20th Annual National Pastel Painting Exhibition.
2010 "Blue Car, Red Dress", "Scalo Restaurant" and "Corner Shoe Store" entered the Annual National Pastel Painting Exhibition in New Mexico.
"Autumn Night in Santa Fe" miniature won the first place in Miniature Masterworks at the Annual Show of MasterWorks of New Mexico.
"Autumn Night in Santa Fe" won Nob Hill Gallery Award of Excellence.
2009 "La Montanita Co-op" and "Nob Hill Church" entered the Annual National Pastel Painting Exhibition. "Nob Hill Church" won Coleen Howe Award.
May-July: Satellite Coffee (Route 66 & Harvard) featured A Cityscape Show.
2008 "Sushi & Sake", a collaborative work with Marion Tzui Yang, won the Outstanding Achievement Award in honor of Todd Tibbals at the Annual MasterWroks of New Mexico Spring Art Show.
2007 "Sedona Rooftops" and "Maltese Fishing Boat" entered the Annual Show of MasterWorks of New Mexico.
"Frontier Restaurant", "Kyoto at Dusk II", and "Red Rock Road" entered the Annual National Pastel Painting Exhibition in New Mexico.
2006 "Santa Fe Plaza" won the first place of Miniature Masterworks at the Annual Show of MasterWorks of New Mexico.
"Kyoto at Dusk" won Pastel Society of America, 34th Annual Open Exhibition, Joseph V. Giffuni Memorial Award.
